Bedugul – Bali

Bedugul is a lake resort in Bali’s central highlands and famous for its fruit and vegetables especially strawberries. Cool and crisp it’s a great place to escape the humidity and busy tourist areas. We had a really pleasant few days away with Anita and Tim on a Yoga and Meditation retreat.

The workshop was run by Sonny who lives in Bedugul with his partner Roro and his mother Dhanie. A most enjoyable time and amazing Indian food. The Handara Golf resort where we stayed, is a classic piece of 1970’s architecture set against a backdrop of misty mountains and the peaceful green and undulating golf course. Off the main road there are plenty of things to see and do – Botanic gardens, hot springs, Ulun Danu Bratan Temple on Lake Bratan, great views of Mount Agung rising up in the distance and of course a couple of very nice concrete statues to add to the collection (see below).

Photo Collections: Concrete Statues – Bedugul
I love the quirky Concrete Statues scattered around Indonesia, there were a couple of good examples in Bedugul including a strawberry and a policeman which I have included in the post. However if, like me you can’t get enough here is the link to the full collection: https://johnandcathy.com.au/2018/01/01/concrete-sculptures/
