One of the delights of travelling through Indonesia is the island of Sumbawa – beautiful people, great roads, little traffic, just lots of crazy goats. Now, goats know nothing about road rules and are more kamikaze than a schoolie in Kuta. We are stuck in the dusty port town of Sape on the eastern tip of Sumbawa waiting for a ferry through the Komodo Islands to Flores .
In drizzling rain we while away our time in a local warung. Cathy is videoing the locals when a cheeky goat tries to join us. In utter surprise it bleats and jumps as the owner grabs its hind leg and drags it away. The locals huddle around the phone, there is much laughter – play it again, play it again.
